The "ber" Months

The "ber" months, September, October, November and December, has finally arrived. And here in the Philippines, it’s the start of the long awaited and overly anticipated season of the year. Because of this behavior, we are known around the world to have the longest Christmas celebration that mostly stretched until the month of February.

Let me give you some events that happen during the “ber” months. In some radio stations, they are already playing Christmas songs. Some even at the end of the month of August. Malls are already conducting pre-Christmas sale though they'll conduct another pre-Christmas sale again some time after the Halloween Season. Moms are already thinking of what motif they shall employ on their Christmas tree. And I heard from the news from the other day that some merchants are already selling seasonal treats. Some shows are showcasing on how to make dishes that are geared up to that said season. And how can I forget the Misa de Gallo, a novena mass that happens during daybreak let’s say 3 am starting December 16 to the eve of Christmas Day, old folks say that if you complete the whole novena mass you could wish for something and that wish will come true.

One conclusion that I could draw out on why we are very much anticipating the Christmas season. In the recent survey conducted, Filipinos are the happiest people in the world. And as everyone knows, Christmas is the happiest season that happens every year for a Christian. Since most of the Filipinos are Christians, they will surely anticipate very for this very special season that happens once every year.
